My idea to become a bamboo crafter and create kokeshi was influenced by a single item: an ornamental earpick. The top end of that earpick was decorated with a charming kokeshi doll, and I immediately though to myself “I want to make this kind of doll out of a single piece of bamboo.” Since then, my workshop has expanded to offer a near-infinite range of kokeshi goods including earpicks, decorative straps, chopstick holders, chopsticks, hairpins, and more. I invite you to enjoy the world of kokeshi dolls. My works have been broadcasted at TVs (KHB and MMT), radios (TBS), and newspapers (Kohoku Weekly Sendai and Oasis).
